About this activity

Kintsugi is the practice of repairing broken objects, highlighting the cracks with gold. Bringing forward the narrative and serving to honor impermanence. Kintsugi is used as an analogy for people to practice resilience. Transform and recover from past experiences. It can serve as an analogy for the duality of life, life's tendency to be incredibly beautiful and challenging simultaneously.

Wabi Sabi is the ancient Japanese art philosophy of finding value in imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness. It invites a new perspective, drawing on ancient Zen truths like non-attachment, impermanence, and awareness. It's about finding beauty in the insignificant and unconventional, finding value in impermanence. It's also about drawing inspiration from the incomplete.

In this intimate workshop, we'll learn the centuries-old Japanese art philosophy Wabi Sabi and reflect on thought-provoking questions.

What you'll do

  • 30 minutes: we drink tea and introduce ourselves
  • After drinking our tea, we break the cups we drink from
  • 60 minutes: we prepare our pieces to be repaired
  • 30 minutes: we repair the pieces
  • 60 minutes: we add the gold

What to prepare

  • Clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • We provide cups, but you can bring your own piece from home if you want. Bring only glazed clay pieces because unglazed pieces are difficult to work with.
  • Your open minds
  • If you are hosting at the office, you will need enough table seating for everyone and hot water for tea.

If you would like to have a class at the studio instead of your office, please book between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Booking with Spaciously

Book an activity with a few clicks

To book, follow the secure checkout process on the website. This will reserve your host's time.

If you need extra help with anything, just leave us a note in the "Comments" field! We're happy to help with food and venue recommendations.

After you check out, you will receive a confirmation email and a receipt. Very shortly after that, our team will reach out to connect you with your host and help with the logistics and questions!

Expect no extra fees or charges

All prices are upfront. There are no extra charges beyond what you pay when you book. In 99% of cases, hosts won't ask for tips because they're already included in the price.

All activities are private

All activities you see on Spaciously are private. You will get a dedicated instructor. You will also get either an entire venue or a section of a venue to yourselves.

All activities are available

If our calendar allows you to pick a date and time, your activity is available! In the rare scenario that your host has an emergency and can't make the date, it's our responsibility to find you a substitute host or a substitute activity quickly. If you don't like the options, we'll send you a full refund.

Ask us a question

We are here to make sure your team gets the event they will enjoy. Helping you find the best activity for your team is the best part of our job. Trust Spaciously hosts

We work only with highly reliable hosts. Every single one of our hosts is a small business owner. We either saw them in action, received a recommendation from another client or had a personal call to go over their proposed activity. Small business owners spend years mastering their skills. They put great care into planning your experience.

Organize a team-building activity at your office

People love when they don't have to go out of their way for team-building. Invite the activity host to travel to your venue by selecting the option "My venue/office."

Some building management companies don't allow certain activities, e.g. cooking if you don't have a kitchen. Make sure you check this before you book.

Most buildings require a certificate of insurance. A one-off certificate of insurance costs ~$150 online, but 99% of the time, our hosts can provide one for free. There may be some back-and-forth with your building management to agree on the coverage, but we are happy to collaborate with you on this.

Cancel or change your reservation

Refer to the cancelation policy on each listing when you book to see how much time you have to cancel your reservation. To cancel, answer the email thread we will start with you or contact hello@spaciously.io.

Regardless of the cancelation policy, hosts usually allow you to move the time of your booking a bit or to add a few more people. We are very collaborative when it comes to small event adjustments. Ultimately, we all want your event to be successful because we want to be your partners for a long time!

Reviews of Spaciously

I had a concierge service except the price wasn’t a secret. I knew exactly what I was getting. And the communication was right there with it.
