The Brooklyn Comedy Collective (BCC) is an alt-comedy theater and school in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with a mission to produce irreverent, fearless shows from a wide range of voices, pay its artists, and inspire students to approach performance from a place of joy and fierceness.
We believe in the power of collective decision-making, ensuring a diversity of voices are at the table and that everyone is treated with equity. We celebrate anyone who wants to let their freak flag fly.
Our introductory improv workshop is a series of exercises and games that teach the skills of successful improvisation:
Participants will take away actionable tools for expressing themselves more confidently and creating more effectively as an ensemble, and have fun doing so in a safe, fast-paced, and low-pressure environment.
You'll play games, where you'll learn:
When we come to your office, we just need a room big enough to accommodate everyone making a circle together, ideally with an open floor plan, but we can be flexible on that. The room needs to be private so we won't get distracted.
Groups who book at our studio love to do an afternoon workshop with us, go grab an amazing dinner at a local Bklyn spot (Win Son or Casa Ora are very popular), and then go see the pros improvise at the theater where we have shows on ($10 tix per person).
This improv workshop offered our team great advice on improvising self-awareness, teamwork, and brainstorming activities. I would recommend it to any business owner as a fun team-building exercise.
Andy from the BCC was beyond impactful and the team was raving about the session.
Philip led our quarterly company event. I think everyone was very nervous about the event prior to going but as soon as we started the first exercise, everyone loosened up and even the most introverted people on our team loved it! After the event everyone couldn’t stop raving about how much fun they had. Philip does a great job of mixing work scenarios with improv exercises that are fun and easily transferable to a professional environment. After just 90 mins our team was much closer and I would definitely recommend Philip / Brooklyn Comedy Collective to other companies looking to break the ice. Thanks Philip!
It was an incredible addition to our team offsite. Many team members mentioned how much fun they had and how skilled the BCC instructors were at getting everyone comfortable and participating - the experience was not at all as intimidating as they had imagined an improv wrokshops would be. The techniques and mindset that were taught are immediately useful in their day-day and they intend to make a habit of applying these newly acquired skills.
Thank you for another excellent workshop. The fellows were enthusiastic about your session, and I appreciate the commitment you have to making your sessions engaging, active, and memorable.
Philip from the BCC led a fabulous workshops for our team, focused on linking improv to our everyday work environment. He is a high energy facilitator who created a fun platform for the ultimate learning experience. A must for your team to understand stronger way to communicate.
Call it ‘team building’, ‘having fun’, ‘introduction to improv’, or all of the above: we got it. Working with a group of Google engineers, in a middle-of-the-day improv/fun/team activity is a great challenge - and Philip was able to meet and exceed our expectations. The activity was fun, engaging, made us feel good, laugh and work as a team. I would dare to say that most of us got some important life learnings about communication, collaboration, behavior and ‘be yourself’ as part of this activity. Thank you, Philip, for joining us and working with us, and thank you for bringing a different perspective to our day.
My team loved the improv workshop. BCC did a great job of incorporating exercises that were spot-on for their responsibilities! The workshop provided a perfect balance of self-reflection and entertainment. Participants gained useful skills, and it was a great ice-breaker for newer people on the team as well.

All prices are upfront. There are no extra charges beyond what you pay when you book. In 99% of cases, hosts won't ask for tips because they're already included in the price.
All activities you see on Spaciously are private. You will get a dedicated instructor. You will also get either an entire venue or a section of a venue to yourselves.

We work only with highly reliable hosts. Every single one of our hosts is a small business owner. We either saw them in action, received a recommendation from another client or had a personal call to go over their proposed activity. Small business owners spend years mastering their skills. They put great care into planning your experience.
People love when they don't have to go out of their way for team-building. Invite the activity host to travel to your venue by selecting the option "My venue/office."
Some building management companies don't allow certain activities, e.g. cooking if you don't have a kitchen. Make sure you check this before you book.
Most buildings require a certificate of insurance. A one-off certificate of insurance costs ~$150 online, but 99% of the time, our hosts can provide one for free. There may be some back-and-forth with your building management to agree on the coverage, but we are happy to collaborate with you on this.
Refer to the cancelation policy on each listing when you book to see how much time you have to cancel your reservation. To cancel, answer the email thread we will start with you or contact hello@spaciously.io.
Regardless of the cancelation policy, hosts usually allow you to move the time of your booking a bit or to add a few more people. We are very collaborative when it comes to small event adjustments. Ultimately, we all want your event to be successful because we want to be your partners for a long time!
I had a concierge service except the price wasn’t a secret. I knew exactly what I was getting. And the communication was right there with it.
