You matter, and your employees matter

The fourth edition of Bridge Builder, our weekly newsletter for people professionals, is on mattering at work.

This week's edition is on mattering at work, which got me wondering, "How many people think their job contributes to their life's meaning?"

Turns out this number is only 17% and has been declining. Employees spend half of their waking hours at work, and they are more engaged when they think their work is meaningful.

The good news is that there are ways to bring more meaning to the workplace, starting with a simple "thank you."
